Professor Li Dawei has been approved as a major project of the National Social Science Fund of China

Recently, the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences released the list of major projects approved by the National Social Science Fund for 2025. The research project on the history of relations between China and Central Asia since the Sui and Tang dynasties, submitted by Professor Li Dawei from the Regional and National College, has been approved for approval.

Li Dawei, born in Xi'an, Shaanxi, holds a PhD in World History from Tsinghua University and is a professor. He mainly engages in academic research on topics such as Jewish Israel and the Silk Road, and has visited Brandeis University in the United States from 2015 to 2017. The relevant achievements have been published in authoritative CSSCI and A&HCI domestic and international journals such as Jewish Studies, Historical Studies, World History, Tsinghua University Journal, Ancient Civilization, Western Regions Studies, History Collection, Dunhuang Studies, Dao Feng: Christian Culture Review, Guangming Daily, etc. at Oxford University, and have been reprinted by Xinhua Digest, Renmin University Copy Materials, etc. The monographs "Research on Ancient Jews Entering China" and translated "The Chronicles of Benjamin" have been published, and the author has presided over four projects including the National Social Science, Ministry of Education, and Shaanxi Social Science Fund. The author has won two awards for outstanding achievements in humanities and social science research in higher education institutions in Shaanxi Province, one award for philosophy and social sciences in Shaanxi Province, and one award for teaching achievements in higher education in Shaanxi Province. The major projects of the National Social Science Fund are led by the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences, and are the highest level, most powerful, and most authoritative project category in the funding system of the National Social Science Fund. They are an important evaluation indicator for measuring the research ability of academic research groups, and have important demonstration and guiding roles. They have significant implications for promoting the development of philosophy and social sciences in China and serving the country's major strategic goals. The approval of this project reflects the steady improvement of the college's scientific research strength and the steady progress of discipline construction, adding core support to the development of regional national studies disciplines in the school.
